Overview
The Office of Student Affairs at NYU's School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking a Director, Student Success.The Director will plan and oversee the delivery of intervention and support programs for students including onboarding, orientation, mentoring, wellness workshops, tutoring services, and directing crisis strategies designed to help students navigate difficult academic and personal challenges.The Director will also develop and implement evidence-based, data-driven strategies to identify at-risk students, provide targeted and timely interventions, and monitor outcomes and ensure continuous student engagementcontributing to improved retention, persistence, and graduation rates at SPS for populations, including new, continuing and transfer, graduate, undergraduate, international and online students.The Director will analyze student success metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and interventions across SPS and share recommendations to execute effective retention, engagement and graduation strategies. The position will supervise the student success team and collaborate with academic units, faculty, advisors and support services across SPS and NYU to create a seamless, holistic student-centered ecosystem. The Director will lead efforts to bring together Academic Advisors and student service departments to share ideas and develop strategies and programs across the School.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in related field
Required Experience: 7+ years progressively responsible professional-level experience in student services, university administration, including experience creating, implementing and assessing student success programs, managing staff and databases.
Preferred Experience: Proven track record in the successful implementation of evidence-based strategies to identify at-risk students that provide targeted and timely interventions contributing to improved retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of best strategies to promote student success and retention. Experience supporting diverse student populations, including international students, online students and adult learners. Self-motivated to work independently and the desire to also work as part of a team. Proven experience managing staff and leading cross-functional teams. Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, public speaking, and writing skills. Ability to handle sensitive situations and/or information with discretion and empathy. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends. Demonstrate leadership ability.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00 to USD $135,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
