Overview This dynamic remote position offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing member experiences from recruitment through retention. As a key member of the Membership and Engagement team, you will have significant interactions with members, prospects, and staff through various communication channels. Your primary responsibilities will encompass membership recruitment and research, renewals, engagement, event registrations, and supporting the overarching goals and objectives of the Association.
In this role, you'll be part of a fast-paced and collaborative environment, where your contributions directly impact the growth and satisfaction of our membership base. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of excellent communication skills, a passion for member engagement, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Member Recruitment
Conduct ongoing online research to expand the prospect database.
Respond to membership inquiries and qualify prospective members within 48 hours; coordinate and lead virtual recruitment meetings.
Achieve a target of 25 prospect calls per week.
Process new membership applications within 24 business hours of receipt.
Member Retention
Address telephone and electronic inquiries regarding membership and event-related questions.
Conduct outreach to members who have not renewed their membership.
Maintain and update the membership database, ensuring all member profiles are accurate.
Execute quarterly touch-base calls with all destination and industry partner members to foster ongoing relationships.
Events
Drive event participation by contacting destination and industry partner members to encourage event registration.
Oversee event registrations, assisting members with the registration process or completing it on their behalf.
Administrative
Manage and respond to inquiries from the general Sports ETA inbox or redirect them as necessary.
Serve as a welcoming and confident first point of contact for members and prospects, embodying the voice of Sports ETA.
Handle invoicing and process payments within the CRM system.
Stay informed about association activities, policies, and services to accurately respond to inquiries.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Membership and Engagement team’s objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing one) in business administration, hospitality, communications, event management, or a related field.
Proven experience and excellence in customer service and/or sales role
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Comfortable on the phone.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask, work independently and as a team, and meet deadlines in a remote work setting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the Sports Events & Tourism Industry: Knowledge or interest in the industry.
Knowledge of membership management data and analysis
Working Hours
This is a part-time remote position, requiring approximately 20 hours per week.
