Description The Atlantic 10 Conference is accepting applications for a Communications Intern. Individuals should be familiar with digital, website, social media, statistical and data analysis.
Duties •Serve as the primary media contact and championship media director for multiple Olympic sports to be assigned. •Produce content for assigned sports via Atlantic10.com, social media, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. •Provide A-10 membership, NCAA and media with updated information for select sports. •Provide support for communications staff in preparation of and during assigned championship events, including but not limited to men’s and women’s basketball. •Assist in editing of communications materials and publications. •Assist in the writing and editing of conference publications, including media guides, championship programs and graphic promotional design. •Other duties as assigned.
• Undergraduate degree in journalism, advanced media communications, public relations or a related field. • Excellent writing/editing abilities and knowledge of AP style. • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills with an emphasis on attention to detail, work ethic, honesty, and loyalty. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. • Self-motivated, creative and digitally savvy. • Volunteer and/or paid experience in sports media technology and social media platforms. • Experience with creating and editing social media and video content preferred.
This is a paid monthly stipend. Candidates must secure their own housing.

The Atlantic 10 Conference was founded in 1975 and consists of 15 diverse members across nine states and Washington, D.C. The conference office currently operates out of Newport News, VA and Washington, D.C. The mission of the Atlantic 10 is to provide an enhanced student-athlete experience through 22 nationally competitive championship sports. The basketball-centric conference is committed to integrity, educational excellence and providing quality equitable championship experiences for its student-athletes, coaches, and support staff.
