Overview
The Associate Director will support the School of Professional Studiesâ™ global strategic goals. This position will develop strategic plans and new programs to expand global opportunities. They will oversee the implementation and management of projects and revenue-producing initiatives. Supervise global operational activity and act as a liaison with the NYU Office of Global Programs. Manage relationships and communication with NYU Offices, institutional partners, and external organizations. Supervise research and prepare analyses on the financial, market, and operational aspects of potential initiatives; draft and review proposals; collaborate with the SPS Learning and Teaching Nexus to build quality assessment protocols and ensure ongoing evaluation of global programs. Communicate with internal individuals to clarify and interpret policies and procedures. Negotiate, clarify and establish terms and conditions for initiatives with external organizations. Ensure that projects are in compliance with University legal, procedural and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, international affairs, or related field.
Preferred Education: Masterâ™s degree in higher education administration, international education, international affairs, or related field.
Required Experience: 5-7 years' relevant experience in higher education administration or equivalent combination. Must include experience in global program administration, international education or similar area.
Preferred Experience: Demonstrated success managing global programs, establishing partnerships, and negotiating programmatic or service agreements between institutions of higher education both domestically and abroad. Experience representing an organization to external parties.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Commitment to international education, academic rigor, understanding of intercultural issues, and a dedication to fostering student learning and intercultural competence. The incumbent must be flexible in adjusting to unusual situations and hours of work, with the ability to accommodate the challenges of global communication. He/she should possess excellent operational, analytical, oral and written communication skills, the ability to problem solve and work efficiency. He/she must also have the creative and interpersonal skills necessary to work across cultures and within a team.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency in a second language.
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $97,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
