The San Francisco Peninsula has retained SearchWide Global to find a strategic, collaborative, and experienced Marketing leader to serve as the new Chief Sales and Marketing Officer.
The San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau is a 501 C-(6) not-for-profit corporation chartered in 1971 by the State of California and governed by a 23-member Board of Directors. The organization is the region’s official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) focused on attracting meetings, conventions, business, and individual travelers (domestic and international), thereby enhancing the economic growth of the area. In 2022, the organization rebranded as The San Francisco Peninsula. Its creativeness has received many design excellence awards, including the coveted Golden Davey.
This position is new to the organizational structure. The Chief Sales and Marketing Officer’s (CSMO) role, under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is to provide measurable tourism industry growth for the San Francisco Peninsula (SFP) destination stakeholders and community by driving brand awareness and recognition - creating hotel room night demand through overall marketing and sales initiatives.
The CSMO commits to sales strategy, direction, management, and top-level oversight of room night sales, communications, digital and print marketing, and public relations. This position leads and collaborates with the CEO as part of the senior leadership team, Board of Directors, Agency, plus Community and SFP Partners in developing, implementing, and executing integrated plans specifically focused on creating positive ROI in Sales, Advertising, Brand Management, Digital Engagement, Marketing Campaigns, Research, Group Meetings & Conventions, Film Commission, and Partnerships. The CSMO possesses high-touch interpersonal skills that will excite the employee team to consistently meet or exceed their goals while building trust with elected officials and local residents to understand the economic value of the tourism initiatives we deliver.
