Overview
The Center for Academic Excellence and Support in the School of Professional Studies seeks an individual to serve as a Learning Experience Lead. The Learning Experience Lead (LEL) has primary stewardship of the Nexus portfolio of resources that support the design and development of formal and informal educational opportunities at the New York University School of Professional Studies (SPS). The LEL engages in work to enhance the NYU SPS Learning Ecosystem across the following areas: Learner-Centric Course Architecture; Goal-Driven Technology Adoption; Incubation of Faculty Labs and Initiatives; Learning Data and Research; and Design Sessions and Solutions Events for Internal and External Clients. As the head developer of inclusive, active, student-centered learning experiences, the LEL aligns all team activities and projects around the creation of multi-modal materials and interactive workshops to facilitate faculty empowerment. The LEL supervises a team of learning experience architects to develop exemplar course sites, model lesson plans, authentic assessment strategies, and sample course materials (e.g., case studies, presentations) to demonstrate the effective application of human-centered design principles, learning science, and technology-enhanced education. The LEL also utilizes research on human cognition, educational psychology, anti-oppressive education, adaptive learning, and AI-enhanced/machine learning tools (e.g., pedagogical agents) to design experimental pedagogical models and learning experiences. The LEL works closely with the Service Design Lead (SDL), the Director of Operations and Learning (DOL), and the Director of Research and Development (DRD) to evaluate and evolve Nexus resources and experiences that enable SPS faculty to design course-related assets that enhance student engagement. The LEL actively contributes to a high-performance learning-focused culture through modeling and mentorship. Additionally, the LEL is an excellent communicator and collaborator who applies theory, research, and best practices in learning experience design to develop creative solutions for the SPS community.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in human-computer interaction, education, or related field
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in human-computer interaction, education, or related field
Required Experience: 5+ years experience developing and managing a diverse portfolio of resources to support faculty development of pedagogy, acquisition of knowledge, and application of theory to practice. Experience providing direct educational and technical consultation to faculty and clients. Experience leading and building a learning experience team. Experience leading learning and development activities in higher education.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Learning Experience Design. HTML/CSS.Learning Management Systems. Curriculum visioning, learning activity design, course evaluation, and student assessment. Ability to learn and teach multiple technologies to advance the SPS mission. Education technology landscape. Implementation of SaaS solutions to enhance teaching and learning.

Qualifications
In compliance with NYCâ™s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $115,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidateâ™s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
