Advertised Job Summary:
The HRSM – School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Instructor. This is a 9-month position that consists of the duties reflected as follows: teach courses in the HRSM – School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management, provide mentoring and guidance to students in the major, collaborate with other departmental faculty in the general mission of the unit; serve on Department, College, or University committees as needed.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Earned master's degree in Hospitality or Tourism Management, or alternatively in another closely related field with a concentration in one of the teaching areas listed below [minimum of 18 graduate semester hours]:
Primary teaching experience in at least two of the following: club management, golf tourism, event management, hospitality management, tourism management.
Secondary teaching interests in one or more of the following: festival management, foodservice management, and a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality classroom instruction.
Minimum of two (2) years of hospitality or tourism operations industry experience .
