As a sales and marketing organization, the main objective of Stay Pleasant Hill is to promote and market Pleasant Hill, CA as a tourism destination.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Sales Manager
Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing
Job Schedule: Full-time
Job Status: Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION
As a top candidate, you enjoy being busy and travelling for work approximately 45% of the time. You excel at building strong relationships and managing details for many concurrent projects and priorities. Day to day, you might be connecting with tour operators, leisure buyers and industry partners, making plans to attend a trade show or coordinating the participation in tourism industry events.
Objectives:
Generate qualified leads in the target market segments you’re responsible for that lead into conversions and book definite rooms nights for Stay Pleasant Hill hotels.
- To increase awareness of Stay Pleasant Hill as a desirable destination.
- Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and travel trade associations
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and execute a sales plan to achieve the desired business outcomes established by the DoSM. The plan would include customer retention, new customer acquisition, closing business techniques, sales activities for that year, customer facing events, recommended tradeshows, and other tactics to achieve the sales goal.
- Overall management of the Stay Pleasant Hill’s sales effort including, but not limited to tour operators, group, incentive, weddings, reunions, and meetings.
- Oversee overall administration, promoting and managing sales efforts and lead distribution.
- Achieve a yearly booking room night and revenue goal established by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Consistently and effectively track all customer and sales activity in the approved CRM system.
- Be knowledgeable and up to date on Pleasant Hill happenings and knowledgeable of industry trends facing Pleasant Hill and the entire tourism industry
- Coordinate, execute and attend all trade show related to the target segments
- Hotel staff and Community development and education to ensure hospitality partners understand the Stay Pleasant Hill and how to engage with potential clients brought by Stay Pleasant Hill.
- Continue to partner with regional CVBs (Visit Concord, Visit Walnut Creek, Visit Tri Valley, Visit Oakland, San Francisco, Sacramento and CTTC) on FAM tours and joint sales calls.
- Develop relationships with airport sales and marketing teams including Buchanan, Oakland, and feeder cities.
- Maintain accurate lead generation and follow up for all meetings, weddings, events, groups, reunions, and incentives leads
- Sales calls, meetings to travel buyers, planners, DMC’s and ongoing communication with industry professionals
- Support the DoSM in ensuring that all details are accurate and up to date on the hotels, meetings capacity pages of the Stay Pleasant Hill website.
- Assist DoSM in developing marketing efforts for Meeting Planner brochures, FAM brochures and media about the meetings market.
- Assist on other projects directed by the CEO and Director of Sales and Marketing where needed.

Requirements:
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination(s)
- Must have a minimum of 3 years sales experience preferably in hospitality, tourism, or service sales. Or, have equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to travel on commercial airlines and have exceptional sales skills.
- Must be able to meet and exceed goals and be highly organized plus have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to travel and occasionally work weekends, evenings and holidays as required by the business.
