We have an exciting opportunity to market and sell a Middle East destination as the premier and competitive convention, meetings & incentive destination in the region. This position requires achieving specific annual marketing and new business development goals, as agreed upon by the client and DCI.
Responsibilities will include:
Follow up on existing accounts and generating new business from associations, corporations and meeting & incentive planning agencies.
Execute sales plan to deliver predetermined goals for new convention, incentive & meeting bookings.
Actively expand the base of qualified customer prospects through new business development and account qualification.
Maximize selling opportunities and efficiency through timely and accurate data management in the Customer Relationship Management system (Salesforce). CRM data input includes, but are not limited to, maintenance of account and contact information, recording meeting specifications and history, producing and distributing sales leads to members, and follow up on responses.
Prepare slide deck presentations and present the destination at sales meetings, tradeshows and other industry events.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the client destination partners to maximize member selling opportunities and cooperative sales success.
Plan and execute creative and engaging sales events for meeting planners.
Participate in key sales initiatives and activities such as trade shows, sales missions and client events.
Participate as a representative of DCI and/or the client at various off-site events where travel is necessary.
Provides complete, accurate and timely performance reporting and sales administration.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have all necessary approvals to live/work in the U.S.
The ideal candidate will have a few years of industry experience working for a CVB/DMO, convention center, destination marketing company (DMC) or representation agency.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite, and the ability to quickly learn new technology
Persuasive and concise verbal and written communicator
Impeccable organizational skills and can demonstrate experience of handling intricate projects
Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Ability to travel domestically and internationally without issues (business travel expected to resume by September 2021).
Located in the NYC metro area, with ability to be in the NYC office 2-3 days per week
Valid driver’s license and passport required
Telecommuting is allowed.
