The Richardson Family SmartState Center of Economic Excellence in Tourism and Economic Development in the School of Hotel, Restaurant Tourism Management, within the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina invites nominations and applications for the position of full Professor and Endowed Chair in tourism and economic development.
The Endowed Professorship position will direct and lead the South Carolina’s Richardson Family SmartState Center of Economic Excellence in Tourism and Economic Development with the direct responsibility of working with government agencies and other tourism planners and developers in discovering and implementing new innovative methods to make the tourism industry more competitive and sustainable. The Center will work with local, state, and national organizations to secure public and private funding to continue to grow and enhance the tourism industry.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Earned doctoral degree in a relevant field (tourism, hospitality, service management, economic development, community development, marketing, geographic systems, data analytics, business administration, technology, and e-commerce; accompanied with at least nine years of relevant academic experience, a record of excellence in teaching and distinguished service, with demonstrated ability to research both in South Carolina and globally.
