The Director of National Accounts is based in Nashville and works to promote Music City as a premier meeting/convention destination to corporations, associations and organizations based on the West Coast that organize national conventions, tradeshows and meetings.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Act as a leader within the local hospitality community to work with convention facilities and hotels to gather availability citywide and single property groups 1000+pk
Conduct various weekly/monthly meetings with key hotel partners in an effort to strategically target convention business for the city
Partner with Regional Director of Nashville Accounts based on the West Coast to prospect and conduct sales trips, incorporating industry events in targeted areas
Strategically manage book of business to meet and exceed quarterly and semester assigned goals for the region
Host site inspections for clients considering Nashville as a destination
Maintain accurate account files by updating the database with pertinent information regarding account and leads
Demonstrate good judgment and act in a professional manner as an ambassador for the city and organization
Education- Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, business, or related field
Licenses/Certifications- Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and successful completion of MVR
Skills- Proven Sales experience with a convention and visitors bureau, major hotel management company or association related business, oral and written communication, exceptional customer relations, drive for results, problem solving skills and good computer skills
Experience- 10+ years of sales industry experience within the meeting/convention industry with either hotels, convention centers & visitor bureaus

Relationship Management: Build relationships with all clients, vendors, and all organizational stakeholders; demonstrate credibility and professionalism in all interactions, as well as the ability to effectively build a network of contacts
Initiative and Creativity: Plan work and carry out tasks without detailed instructions; prepare for problems or opportunities in advance; respond to situations as they arise with minimal supervision
Strategy and Planning: Offer advice and create plans based on client needs and, how those needs link to responsibilities, capabilities, resources, and potential of the department, organization, and community
Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Employee spends a considerable about of time seated; working at a desk in front of a computer monitor.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
Frequent driving of vehicle
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, and balance.
Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
Work involves quarterly day/overnight sales trips to the West Coast region
Ability to work evenings and weekends as position duties require
