The Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management (PRTM) is accepting applications for the position of Non-Tenure Track Lecturer on a part-time basis for the following undergraduate courses: Introduction to PRTM, Diversity and Inclusion in Recreation and Sport, Principles of Recreation Planning and Facility Development, and Parks and Recreation Finance and Administration.
Candidates with relevant experience and qualifications will be considered for graduate courses in advanced financial management in parks, recreation and sport management, leadership and organizational behavior, and program evaluation methods.
Candidates must be available to meet with students during scheduled office hours. Part-time Non-tenure track faculty positions are typically one semester with the possibility of renewal.
Requires master’s degree, an equivalent degree, or equivalent professional experience.
Candidates should have:
Knowledge and experience with teaching courses in finance, planning, diversity and inclusion, park and recreation facility planning, and a broad introductory course in PRTM
Be passionate and enthusiastic about teaching and student learning.
Experience using course management systems such as Moodle.
Excellent communication and teaching skills.
Preference will be given to candidates that have experience teaching in recreation and tourism at the university level.
Ph.D. preferred but not required.
