The School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management (HRTM) in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) is seeking a highly motivated Food Service Management professional to teach undergraduate courses in HRTM 370; Restaurant Food Production Management. The search committee welcomes inquiries from both experienced Chef Instructors as well as working Chefs in the industry who possess training expertise. The successful candidate will teach a full academic load (4 courses/12 credit hours) in the Fall and Spring semesters. Courses are undergraduate-level and taught at the McCutchen House, a student-operated multicultural dining facility, located on the historic Horseshoe of the University of South Carolina. The facility is open to the public, and host scholars and visitors from around the world. The Chef Instructor is expected to have a passion for culinary art, broad-based knowledge of all aspects of hot and cold food preparation, a proven record of teaching/training others, event coordination, front of house management, and a strong record of excellence in quality food service.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Master’s degree and two (2) years of front-house management experience in a full service restaurant/food service environment.
