The Dalton Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) in conjunction with the Dalton Convention Center (DCC) are accepting applications for the position of Tourism Director.
The position will oversee the management of the DCC including financial responsibility, staff performance, and building maintenance.
The candidate will be required to oversee the development of budgets and long term and short term strategy focusing on generating economic impact through lodging tax.
Development of a destination marketing organization annual plan will be required for the CVB. Director will lead a team of 3 sales staff and will be tasked with developing the meetings market, sports market, events, and transient visitors.
Director will also oversee two visitor centers. One located in Historic Downtown Dalton and the other in Tunnel Hill.
Applicants will have a minimum of a 4 year degree from an accredited university in business administration, marketing, or hospitality. In addition candidate will have a total of at least 5 years of proven success operating a Destination Marketing Organization and operating a conference facility or a full service hotel.
