Private Club has an Athletics Director position available. This position is responsible for the overall operations of the fitness facility, with primary oversight of the operating standards, systems and practices as they directly impact the overall excellence of the department. The Athletics Director will be the face of the fitness facility and will consistently provide excellent service and support to our athletics package holders and their guests. The candidate must possess a dynamic leadership with a "get it done" attitude. The candidate must develop strong working relationships with the Clubhouse Director and the housekeeping management team to ensure collaborative and harmonious teamwork between the fitness facility, sauna, message, pool and the locker room facilities.
•Oversees all financial aspects of the fitness operations, including working with other department heads and supervisors as needed to ensure that the financial performance of the fitness department meets budget.
•Select, hire, coach, mentor and train fitness department employees in a manner that reinforces the Club's values and philosophies and ensure the operation of the department meets company standards and provides an environment that promotes membership.
•Oversee all operating practices, polices, fitness programming, marketing practices and systems that are necessary for achieving the department's and Club's strategic and business plan goals.
•Serve as the face of the Athletics department, communicating with members directly, addressing their concerns and providing excellent customer service.
•Demonstrate strong and dynamic leadership traits to be able to deal with member issues, governance, committee members and employees. Displays a positive "can-do" attitude at all times.
•Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management, health, fitness or related field required; or a combination of education and experience. •Minimum of three (3) years experience managing a gym or fitness facility, preferably in a high end facility. •Previous Club experience a plus. •CPR/AED Certification, a plus. •Past trainer experience or independent contractor knowledge, a plus. •Experience managing a spa/pool, preferred. •Strong knowledge of cleaning, maintaining and servicing a gym and pool highly preferred. •Certification in CPR. •Certifications from national organization such as ACSM, ACE, NSCA, etc., required.
