Rochester Sports (formerly Rochester Amateur Sports Commission) is now filling the Executive Director position due to retirement of the current Director. The Executive Director is charged with the daily business and management functions of the RS office. This includes leading the RS team to attract and secure sports related business and work to create additional events that financially benefit the community.
Strong communication skills necessary for working effectively with board members and volunteers/associates on a regular basis.
Strong leadership skills to lead the staff and organization in a positive and pro-active manner and to maintain RS’s position as a leading organization in the area.
Experience in management of all business personnel issues as allowed by state and federal laws.
Knowledge of budgets for events as well as planning and coordinating the annual budgeting process.
Strong presentation skills necessary to share the mission of RS locally and to help secure future business on a local, regional and national level.
Knowledge of account coding of general ledger accounts in step with annual budget.
Sales experience to lead staff and sales department in sales efforts to secure future business.
Computer knowledge is required with strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook with some knowledge in various programs such as QuickBooks, Publisher and internet tools such as Dreamweaver.
Must have the drive and desire to set an example in working outside regular business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, should the schedule require it.
About Rochester MN Sports
Rochester MN Amateur Sports Commission has recently gone through a rebranding campaign and will move forward as Minnesota's Rochester Sports or Rochester Sports locally. We are a 501C3 organization created in 1992 when we were host of the AAU Junior Olympics. We are funding by the local lodging tax and have a board consisting of 27 local sports enthusiasts and a staff of five FTE. We administer and support approximately 100 sporting events annually.
