(45%)Video Production Equipment and Infrastructure Oversight -Design, install maintain and repair all broadcast related equipment and infrastructure as it relates to in-house production (video board, post-production and webcast) -Responsible for technical readiness of in-house broadcast control room, cameras, router, switcher intercom systems, audio routing and distribution (Dante), and all IT/networking needs within video production environment -Keep up to date records of information related to all pieces of hardware and software related production (purchase dates, warranties, updates, repairs etc) -Troubleshoot technical issues that arise in any stage of production efforts (25%) Communication with others -Provide IT/Networking technical assistance with all control room systems; interfacing with both internal and external entities (ie: Athletics IT, UMN IT, Daktronics, Parsons etc) as necessary -Communicate with and delegate responsibilities to other staff members, interns and students to provide consistent technical coverage and operations during events -Assist with troubleshooting audio and video related gear throughout department, provide guidance if/when outside support is necessary (20%) Event and Gameday Responsibilities -Work as a member of the in-house broadcast team and provide event support -Identify and explore opportunities for efficiency in all areas of production that also help achieve growth of productions (5%) Future Planning -Serve as a key and driving voice in efforts to add, expand and maintain all broadcast infrastructure within each athletic facility and central video production control rooms (5%) Other Duties as Assigned
Required Qualifications: -2 years experience in broadcast/control room setting for live events -Solid understanding of control room systems (Router, Switcher, Graphic Systems, servers etc) -Strong understanding of networking, IP address management, v-lans, firewall management (ability to configure and manage inbound / outbound firewall rules) -Skilled in installing and terminating various types of cable -Strong & professional written and verbal communication skills -Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs -Ability to maintain a schedule that includes night, weekends and holidays -A BA/BS degree in a field related to the position; or a combination of related education and work experience in the areas of infrastructure design, implementation and/or administration to equal four years.
