Reporting to the President, the Director of Tourism Partnerships is responsible for the development and management of innovative, effective and rewarding partnerships that will meet the destination’s strategic objectives established by Discover Lancaster and the tourism stakeholders we serve.
This is an exempt position and may require overtime work.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
The Director of Tourism Partnerships will collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, and Public Relations to identify opportunities to assist partners in maximizing and growing their business by leveraging market and consumer insight to help inform partners decision-making in a variety of areas including product development, marketing, workforce development, revenue generation and administration.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Achieves budgeted revenue for all partnership sales and advertising opportunities.
Establishes robust relationships with Partners serving as primary liaison for Discover Lancaster.
Manages all facets of the Partnership process, including prospecting, frequent connection points, establishment of mutual objectives, reporting and ongoing relationship nurturing.
Conducts strategic, frequent outreach connections to build awareness of Discover Lancaster’s Partnership Program and available resources.
Works with Partners to identify key business challenges and ways to connect Discover Lancaster’s disciplined experts to provide tailored support.
Identifies key insights provided by data and research and provides opportunities to assist individual Partnerships’ business landscape.
Showcases Discover Lancaster’s tools and methodologies to tailored Partner needs.
Manages the Annual Tourism Awards program
Leads and manages the Membership Coordinator.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in business administration, tourism management, or marketing.
At least 5 years proven experience working in tourism management, marketing or business administration.
Exceptional organizational and administrative skills – demonstrated attention to detail, multi-tasking and meeting multiple deadlines is required.
Experience in cold calling, outreach and sales communication.
Proven history in establishing strong partnerships and working in a highly collaborative team environment.
Must have an in-depth understanding of the regional tourism environment
Must be willing to drive personal vehicle for travel
Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, postage machines, and fax machines.
