Experience Kissimmee is currently seeking an experienced Tourism Sales Manager. This position is responsible for increasing awareness of Kissimmee as a vacation destination domestically and in Canada within the Travel Industry. The Tourism Sales Manager will plan and execute sales missions and tradeshows and familiarization tours in an effort to create economic impact for Osceola County and the Kissimmee area.
Below are some of the responsibilities of the position.
Work to increase Osceola county as a featured product in Travel Industry programs for a defined geographical territory and assigned market segment(s).
Evaluate opportunities for tradeshows, sponsorships, FAMs, and sales missions for assigned markets.
Design and conduct sales missions in targeted markets.
Coordinate local industry partners participation in tradeshows, sales missions and FAMs. This includes event registration and travel arrangements, appointment confirmations, planning for collateral and display materials and post-event reporting.
Manage annual sales efforts in Canada, including advertising campaigns, and co-op advertising partnerships with tour operators, OTAs, and travel organizations.
Plan, manage and track annual budget for all programs in assigned markets.
With the assistance of an internal event planner, plan and execute FAM trips for travel trade clients. This includes creating itineraries, sourcing accommodations, creating and delivering presentations and escorting clients once in the destination as well as recording in-kind support from local industry partners.
Act as liaison between travel/trade professionals and area properties and service providers in an effort to promote bookings into the area, and conducts local networking meetings for area industry representatives.
Assist in preparing and distributing sales collateral and marketing materials geared towards the Travel Industry in assigned markets.
Ensure sales goals are achieved by networking with existing clients as well as new clients through correspondence and CRM account management.
Manage the day-to-day efforts of an international agency in Canada that represents Experience Kissimmee. This includes ensuring the agency executes the approved annual plans and approved budget allocation as well as vetting business development proposals from the agency throughout the fiscal year. Approve agency expenditures, trade show participation and co-op marketing agreements per the preapproved budget for the corresponding fiscal year.
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing or other related field and 3-5 years of related experience. Will substitute experience for education.
Proficient in MS Office suite, especially MS Word, Excel and PPT. Must also be proficient in a sales database platform/CRM.
Sales experience with the Travel Industry, specifically tour operators, AAA, SYTA, New York Times Travel Show, Military Bases and Student groups.
Must be able to travel domestically 6- 8 times per year and 2-3 trips to Canada per year.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, industry partners and internal team members.
Requires strong customer relations skills, communication skills, both verbal and written, organizational skills, both analytical and problem solving, and the ability to work with confidential documents.
Must be a self-motivated, team player with high energy and a great attitude.
The ability to manage multiple tasks, achieve deadlines under pressure, and work independently without direct supervision or as a member of a team that solicits input for all levels of the organization.
