Manage the receptive tour operator travel trade programs to include trade shows, destination trainings, local sales calls and events. 30%
Support the international offices and representation agencies with trade activities including overseeing international FAMS and site inspections from Europe, Middle East and India. 20%
Assist the Senior Director, Tourism to plan, develop and implement the annual tourism marketing plan in accordance with the organization’s overarching strategic business objective. 10%
Assist with content for online training program, travel trade website, newsletters, collateral, and presentations. 10%
Support Los Angeles World Airports contract to ensure deliverables are achieved. 10%
Maintain client accounts in database to reflect daily communication and tracking production. 10%
Represent LA Tourism at designated events. 5%
Perform other duties as assigned. 5%
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with LA Tourism's internal departments to ensure integration of tourism activities.
Work in conjunction with the other Tourism Managers on joint trade activities.
Submit month-end sales activity reports.
Build relationships with LA Tourism members as well as local CVBs and Visit California.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree required and a minimum of 1-3 years of related professional experience required. Prior experience in tourism marketing at a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) and/or hotel is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to work some evenings and weekends and travel as needed.
Ability to prioritize projects and tasks and assume timely and effective solutions to unanticipated client-focused issues.
Strong understanding of Los Angeles and all it offers.
Strong communication and public speaking skills.
Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Dependable, great attitude, highly motivated and a team player.
Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively across various departments.
